This event is a perfect way to celebrate, remember, and honor all those that have served our Country. Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971.
This event will be taking place on the White River Trail State Trail with the start and finish in downtown Lyons, WI. The White River Trail is a rails-to-trails crushed limestone path on the former SOO railway. This trail is canopied by trees and provides the perfect place to reflect on the selfless service the military provides.
**This is a dog-friendly event, so feel free to bring your four-legged running partner with you!
This event is FREE for our Veterans, Active Duty, Reserves, Law Enforcement, and their spouses.
Please email kenosharunningcompany@gmail.com for your free sign-up promo code and attach a picture of your military or work id.
Entry fee for all others is $24.00 with online sign up and $34.00 the day of the event. Swag will be available for purchase.
Online sign-up will conclude at 10am on the Friday before the event.
Once you are done with your run, continue the festivities by supporting one of the local Lyons' businesses for a bite or a pint that are steps away from the start/finish area. Swag will be available for purchase.
When signing up, please consider purchasing a flag that will line the start/finish area to honor or in memory of a military hero in your life. We would love to line the trail with flags.
There also will be an option to donate to the Kenosha Running Company's Red, White and Blue Program. This program provides free or discounted race entries to active duty or retired military personnel, police, sheriff and their spouses to run or walk several of our events throughout the year. This unique program helps to provide a way for them to remain physically active while also fostering a sense of community.

Kenosha Running Company is welcoming and encouraging to all those near and far that cannot attend our event in person, to join us in spirit and share the day with us. We will continue to offer all of our trail & canicross events virtually. Those that join us virtually are encouraged to share the highlights of their run, walk or hobble by emailing the story and pictures to us, sharing on our Facebook page, or tagging us #KenoshaRunningCompany and we will include them in our event recap email and in our monthly digital magazine. You will also receive a bib number via email. Please join us regardless of your location and share in the trail - canicross kind of fun!
